Look at the pedestal sink in that ad.. It's the Home Creapo Glacier Bay special... I'm quite sure they're using the $80 steel tub and cheap 4 1/4's for the walls too...

they get in on the job for $3500 by the time they leave with extras, its another 5-7k.

and when normal contractors bid it @ 6-8k they look at us like we are the crazy ones

the people that hire these places deserve all the aggrevation they get from those clowns!

15K is the average price for my bathrooms. I don't think I could do a full remodel for under 10K.

Hopefully, people realize that they get what they pay for.

Wuh-oh... I took a lot of heat awhile back for admitting I do a lot of $10K bath remods (5x7)... Middle of the road type stuff going in, better than glacier bay, not quite Hansgrohe.

Remember that house and the bathroom we fixed for that guy, where they wired Jacuzzi to a refrigerator and messed up his all electrical panel That started out to be $3,500 bathroom remodeling, and after they couldn't suck more money out, they left him hanging and took off with all the money.

I am typically just a reader on this site, but I have to throw in a few words. For any customer going to craigslist to find a contractor, don't they deserve the crap job that they are paying for, I mean if you want a bathroom done right, I would imagine you would start by asking friends if they knew anybody, or had recommendations. Than maybe research a few company's on the computer, check for lic. bbb and so on. and finally get a few bids, compare notes, material used, and typical extra charges. But simply said, it is hard for me to sell a $12k bath remodel, when the customer doesn't care about the details. I for one will not build a bathroom with junk and pass it off, just so I can stay busy. Thank god for good referrals!!

I agree with you, doing a crappy job just to do it and put your name on it, it's not worth the trouble and at the end have your reputation diminished, because they wanted cheap and now they complain about every little thing.
