Bye Bye Ladder..

So its bad enough that it was only 30* out today, cause it was in the 70's last week. So i have to go up on a second story roof and flash the new vent pipe the plumber put in today . So im up there and about 3/4 of the way done when out of no where, a nice gust of wind comes.. There goes the ladder crashing to the ground... .

Grab the cell phone and call the home owner, who is in the house,(its rental property) So he can set the ladder back up. Being a smart a$$, he says something about my bill for the week, and asks how bad i wanted to get down. I told him I had a hammer and a prybar. I will go in through the roof if i have too and add it to his bill..

Dont ya just hate when stuff like that happens.(the ladder falling down)

Yea, had that happen before with the wind blowing ladders over. fortunetly I haven't been stranded. If your ladder was extended to the sencond story how did your ladder turn out? Falls like that can really put a hurt on a ladder.

Last year I invested in a trampoline and now I just bounce up to the roof. Best $$ I ever spent

You can also bungee cord yourself up there too. Takes a lot of them, and you have to have buy a special "release" mechanism that will unhook you from the ground after you build the tension up.

Re: Bye Bye Ladder..

I was on the roof 2 stories up and same thing, the ladder fell off, and I had a circuial saw with me and there was no one around so I cut a hole in the roof(just ply up there) and slide down inbetween the rafters.

and my ladder is bent slightly to the left, but thats not what she siad.

If you think about it, a leaning ladder might be the ticket for those annoying central units! Just don't think about it too much.
