Broken Wrist Forces Crew To Grow And Expand

Hey guys.

I broke my wrist falling off deck joists from a height of 12'
I was walking joists one rolled and then i crashed through some that were toenailed only - ouncing off my left shoulder (which did,t even hurt) landing on my right wrist. Unfortunately the medical costs come out of pocket.

It's just the radius bone which is below your thumb.
The doc anticipates full recovery in 6 or so weeks.

I am a young healthy man so I'm not to worried about the situation as I have a crew and some cash in the bank.

This injury is causing me to rethink somethings about how i'm crewed up and may actually be a good thing in disguise making me to utilize my sales and management skills more then physical ablities.

Long story short I think i'll be ok and might even have an expansion forced due to injury - who would have thought.

The injury has make me rethink long term disability insurance however. It's a must have which I don't have but im ok this is why cash is king !!!

Just the Radius Bone. The one the pivots and semi-rotates, controlling ALL the Dorsal and Plantar and Lateral functions of the Wrist and Hand? That Radius Bone?

Do not eff with it. Make sure it is well and good before you start swingin' that hammer again!

You should sue whoever you bought the lumber from. Then you should start at least one, preferably two web sites detailing why it's not your fault you broke your wrist, but the fault of the lumber company and demand that they pay you several million dollars in compensation. Then come back to CT and post endlessly about it.

Good luck with your recovery. I broke a bone in my hand 12 years ago and it's still not right.

Well, actually it was a broken finger. I don't want to try and draw any parallel to your injury as far as severity. Just wanted to point out that I rushed back and the joint pops when I make a fist doesn't feel like it fits together the way it should. So definitely swing lefty for a while.
