Bid Sites? Good Or Bad

Hello new to the site. I been in business for over 20 yrs and doing block retaining walls for 10 yrs. I have a good following but it's all word of mouth. I do private as well as commercial jobs and I'm wanting to expand but find it difficult to find new jobs to bid outside of my circle. My question is, are bid sites good or is there a better route?

Don't know what a 'bid site" is.

but your local builders exchange or plan room is a great place to get bid info. usually commercial jobs.
