I like kitchen and bath remodels. I stay inside for winters. In summers I like doing deck work but moreso wood fencing projects.I can make easy money on fencing jobs...and not much brainwork involved.

Ha unfortunately those “money walls” are harder to come by with all this tilt slab stuff nowadays.

Worked as a tilt-up carpenter for about 12 years. Made great money as a youngster.

Are you kidding? There's iron workers, rod busters, panel ringers, layout guys, detail carpenters, sack and patch guys. Crane riggers, slab on grade crews. Finishers, and many laborers. I'm sure I missed some.

Re: Best Paying Project Types

Tilt-ups are not about less labor. They are all about time to complete and get a business up and running.

I have been moving more towards Pharma and Bio

Nice margins, less competition, and safe clean environments

Any job where the person isn't pulling the money out of their wallet!

Working for companies is so much easier than working for homeowners.

Also any job that requires full PPE and strict safety rules the money gets better.

Re: Best Paying Project Types

We always like doing dirty, nasty, complicated jobs. Tight quarters, tough schedules, etc. Weeded out most of the competitors and allowed us to charge a good price. Also built a lot of trust with clients so future work was much more easily negotiated.
