Bagster Vs. Dumpster

Have anyone tried using a Bag for the garbage and Bagster service instead of the dumpster on the job. The Bagster Service is not available in my area yet, but maybe some of you have it near you.

Any thoughts? Take the link Fot Bagster Service to get more information.

Kind of wish I could
just buy the bags.

Meanwhile, back to the
lugger boxes.

Re: Bagster Vs. Dumpster

Here's how they getya. Now you are paying a 3 yard fee for 1 yard of haul.

I was looking at the dumpster haul limits and they are much lower than the bagster before they start to charge you $85/ton on top of their normal fee.

A 10 yrd dumpster has a 3000lb limit before they tack on the extra tonnage fees.

Quote:
BUY the Bagster bag from one of our retail partners at a suggested retail price of $29.95.
FILL with up to 3,300 pounds of household junk, construction debris and yard waste.
GONE after scheduling collection with Bagster and paying collection fee.

Quote:
*Heavy Materials / Weight Restrictions: The Bagster bag can hold 1 cubic yard of heavy materials. Bagster will not pick up any bags containing more than 1 cubic yard of heavy debris. Heavy materials include, but are not limited to dirt, brick, rock, concrete, asphalt, sand, gravel and sod. Heavy materials should be placed at the bottom of the bag no more then 10 inches up from the bottom of the bag.

Load Capacity: Materials can not be sticking up over the sides or top of the Bagster bag. Distribute weight evenly and load heaviest items at the bottom of the Bagster bag.

Re: Bagster Vs. Dumpster

I like the bags for small jobs, for under $130 you can put it anywhere the truck can make pickup, there is no rental so you can leave the bag as long as you want.
I bought 12 bags, 6 - 2 yard and 6 -3 yard for $15 a bag. $70 for pickup and its very handy on small jobs.
They are a pain to fill up when your bag is empty.
For city work, 2 or 3 bags where you cant fir a rolloff works, and no street permit if you put it on the boulevard.
They have their place-------

$265 for a 6 yard roll off. $130x2+$30x2=$340, Cheaper for the steel can here.

Re: Bagster Vs. Dumpster

sometimes you can get a 50% off dumping/pickup coupon. I've had 2 coupons

Like all containers it's best to pack your bagster. Unlike steel container the bags tend to fall over on themselves, so just build corners out of your junk to hold up the bags and fill the middle. I've used them on 6 different jobs/projects, 4 bathrooms total guts, a small kitchen and to empty my garage. Couldn't be more happy.
So along as the truck used for pick-ups can get to the bagster you're in business. ( just remember about the electrical wires above and the antique cars)

Re: Bagster Vs. Dumpster

The bags are handy for small jobs, I re-plank a lot of decks and they are great for getting rid of the old decking (unless my firewood pile is getting low), about $130 for the 3 yard bag and pickup. By comparison, a 10 yard container is pushing $400.

They are not in my area, but I heard about them on Lawncafe last winter.
I picked up one of the bagsters last time I was up in Massachusetts on my annual vacation.
I haven't used it yet, but I just had to have it.

I would love to get my hands on a coupon or two, where do you find them?

Re: Bagster Vs. Dumpster

Somebody not far from me has had a bag sitting at the end of their driveway for over 2 months now. It is full and I wonder who's fault the hold up is in picking it up.
