Badgering?

Hello all wish you all the best for 2007. I'm still new at this whole sales part of owning my own business and was wondering how often some of you guys make calls. I know some people in other trades who said when they started they would call maybe 2 to 3 times daily to the same contractors but how far do you actualy go before it comes down to badgering or is there such a thing as badgering when your trying to get your name out there. just wanted some input thx.

Re: Badgering?

i am new in this game also, but i rarely call back. i may call in 2 weeks if i am slowing down or i may call in a month. Since all of my work is fairly priced and all of my business is referrals, i stay pretty busy.

if they want to hire a quack to do a job, more power to them.

Re: Badgering?

When I first started out, I got lucky to have one connection. That lead to my first roof on a Mobil gas station mini-mart. After that, every where I drove, and saw a construction trailer, I knocked on the door and asked if I could bid the job or alternatively, be put on their company bid list for future similar jobs. I started to get a whole bunch of repetition going. (Of course, I was WAY TOO CHEAP), but I did not realize it until my first insurance audit. GEE! I didn't know you had to take out taxes on your employees! I thought they were all subcontractors. Well, lesson learned!

During the first 8 years,we did around 1,200 Hardees, Wendys, Taco Bells, B-K's, Chilis, Lone-Star, Macaroni Grill, and a real lot of Mobils.

All, just because I knew how to knock on a door.
