Take the customers beer out of their refrigerator and replace it with your batteries until the cool down. Most customers really like that.

If you're busy, as it seems you are, quit your whining and buy some more batteries.

I keep a fridge in my trailer and put batteries in there to cool down.

Only in the mid 90's here and no problems. I find it hard to believe that just a few more degrees would cause major failures.

Re: The August Alabama Heat Fried My Dewalt Batteries!

Teetor, it's not about a failure.

Under hard use Dewalt 18vt batteries generate enough heat that if taken directly to the charger they will be hot enough to cause a Dewalt smart charger to abort the charge cycle in order to avoid damaging them. When the air temps are more in the normal range they simply cool off quickly in the charger and will begin charging in 5-10 minutes. Shelf guys problem is that it's been so hot the batteries don't have any cool air to cool them and it's taking forever to cool down enough for the charger to start charging them.

Eventually they will cool down and begin to charge but at 106 degree air temps it might take an hour.

I've had that my Milwaukee batteries overheat before, and the charger didn't charge them at all. I thought the battery pack was ruined, but I set it back on the charger and it worked.
