I don't know who you are or what online lead company you represent...I don't care either.

You called yesterday claiming to have found me on 'Contractor Talk' under handyman services...your information is not correct, you may have found me on Contractor Talk, but I am listed under concrete.

I guess if I had not have told you 3 times I had no interest in what you could do for me, which you kept ignoring and trying to hold on I may have actually been polite and said 'goodbye' before I hung up the phone.

I understand you have a job to do, understand when someone says they are not interested, let it go. You have no deal for me that I want. I am not ever go to sign up for any lead services, I have spent 20+ years in this business; every job I have done is landed through referrals from a previous client. I don't need your help to expand my company.

Now, perhaps if you could have shut your mouth for 30 seconds and listened to me I would not have had to be rude and hangup abruptly. Get this through your thick skull, pushy salesman are yesterday, look desperate and will not survive.

...And please don't you or one of your associates call me back today, I am still not interested

So your sure you don't want to sign up with service magic?

I keep filling out the request to join with your info. I try to do it at least once, sometimes twice a day. I thought I was helping out.

Remind these clowns about the fines for making calls to numbers on the do not call list. (Then get your number on the list.)

Business numbers don't qualify.

Hmmmmm. I must admit I didn't know that. The cell number I use for business is under my name and therefore a personal number. I guess it doesn't do much for a landline in an office.

To be fair, I'd feel safe in betting that significantly less than half of the membership here have business listings. So your suggestion does have merit.

Re: Attn: Tony

As for the do not call list, I bet even with a business phone, the caller won't know it so threatening action will probably work. Most callers won't take the time to check the list anyway and if they argue and say they are allowed to call, that would surely get them nowhere.

It does behoove them to do so. I signed up for my home phone immediately when they enacted the legislation. Not long after, our dinnertimes were blissfully undisturbed.

Then I got a telemarketing call clearly in violation of the list. Got their info, and turned 'em in on the state Attorney General's website. Months went by with no feedback, not that I expected any.

Then one day I got a letter from the AG's office. Jeeze, what did I do now?!?

Turned out that I was one of 139 people across the state who reported that outfit. AG sued 'em, won, and sent me a check with a little ($39) piece of the action.
