I never have trash.
I hire 10 helpers at $12 an hour to follow me around and pick anything up that may fall onto the floor. Where they put it after that is not my problem.

Most the jobs I have been on consist of throwing the box you just crapped in out into the yard, thats waste management.

I am not sure about the topic question, but anyone have problem's with the company Waste Management, we had a dumpster with them and we cancelled, because of them raising our bill so much. After we cancelled, they still left the dumpster at our business for 2 months, and emptied the empty dumpster every week, Than tried to charge us for the 2 months and when we refused to pay, they said they are going send it to collection.

Re: Anyone Work In Waste Management In Construction?

Some of the residential builders around here hire a service instead of using a dumpster. Everything gets thrown in the garage and these guys come out after every trade is finished (atleast thats what they are supposed to do) and they remove all the trash from the garage. I guess it is supposed to be cheaper and you dont have to deal with the neighbors using your dumpster, plus I was told that eventually they wont allow dumpsters at all in the county anymore on residential construction. The problem is the garages are always full of junk and the guys who are supposed to clean it up do nothing but get pissed about people crapping in buckets and peeing in bottles and throwing them in the garages. The there is the place that they take the waste to sort and recycle it, from the looks of the place the county will close it down soon.

Re: Anyone Work In Waste Management In Construction?

It was only a couple years ago that there was a commercial solution for dealing with waste. Now there are several companies that deal in the roll-off container business. They have absolutely exploded. Everywhere you go there is a roll-off. The jobsites have gone from being a mess to being almost spotless. I love them. It doesn't pay anymore to buy yourself a trailer to haul off your own trash. The only downside to them is that they are big and frequently, the jobsite has no place to put them so they go in the street.

We bought our own hook lift truck and roll off cans. Works great and other contractors help us pay for our equipment. Plus our truck has a flat bed and a dump bed.

People around here use dumpsters which they claim are sorted through to recycle when possible.

Waste management is huge and you'll probably do well. Those grinders that take construction debris, stumps, leaves and stuff like that and turn them into compost are like money printers.
