Anyone Ever Built A Whisper Creek Log Home?

Just wondering if anyone out there has dealt with the construction of a Whisper Creek home. It is a different style of building than I am used to so I am just wondering what other peoples experiences have been with them.

As in it is a different style of "log" home than you are used to building? or as in you are a stick builder looking to move into log homes.
I never heard of Whisper Creek, are they a precut log home?

It is a pre-fabricated system that is a 2x6 framed wall with log siding one it. All the walls are sent out and then the contractor puts it all together. There are log purlins and ridge beams, log railing, log floor joists for lofts etc... I will be getting the chance to build these in the near future and was just wondering if anyone has built one. They look very easy but just looking for tips and tricks.

I've helped put together a log home that was taken down piece by piece and numbered. I've also helped built a new log home (cutting trees, scraping the bark, notching the ends, nailing on the wire and then using the portland cement/lime/sand between the logs. I even lived in a 200 year old log home for a few years but I never heard of a kit!

I would stay away from log siding. I have been doing a lot of research on log homes because I plan on building one in a few years. This last place we rented on vacation had log siding on the walls of the shed dormer and you can see the shrinkage, splitting, and checking in the log siding which then exposes the building wrap underneath. It's too easy for water to get behind each "course" of log siding.
