Anybody Working This Weekend?

Because I am. This really stinks. I'm going away on the 2nd and my cleints have there 1st baby on the way. There due date is on the 24th or 28th. Since I'm going away and she is due tomorrow I will be working all this weekend finishing up a 2nd bathroom addition and starting an existing bath tomorrow morning hoping to get it done by the time she has her baby and I go away... fun stuff.

Re: Anybody Working This Weekend?

I have to put a couple coats of mud on a patch above a door and finish packing out tools from one job so they are ready for another.

I am planning on squeezing in some golf sometime.

Funny thing is, I did not realize it was a holiday weekend untill last night?!?!

Re: Anybody Working This Weekend?

Worked today at the shop for about 3 hours, put some cabinets together and played with some conduit. At about 4:30 went over to a clients home to take a measurement for a whirlpool tub panel. QSWO with a dark brown stain to match the vanities I did for him half a year ago. He has some more work for me. Finish up a computer work station, 8 pocket doors, 2 drawers, put a nice profile on all the plywood edges. Wants a small bookcase, pair of doors on the bottom. Wants a slab style mantle, pretty simple. Went back to the shop and dropped off the paperwork and unclamped the cabinets. I might go there tomorrow for a short time to sand the cabinets and put some shelf holes in them. Then off to my sisters to meet the family and have a cookout and maybe a drink or two.

Re: Anybody Working This Weekend?

I rip out this existing bath today and what so I find, a "Sheetrock" sticker from 1921! The dates for the patents went back to 1912!!! I always thought sheetrick did not surface until the 1940's. My client took a pic of the sticker with his camera and I'm going to take my camera to work tomorrow to take a pic of it.

Re: Anybody Working This Weekend?

After a while you get sick of work and force yourself to take a day off...it feels real goooooood. And it lasts for about a day, maybe 22 hours.

Re: Anybody Working This Weekend?

Worked all day Saturday, and filled my trailer with stuff from the job that's almost done. Unloaded today. Back at it Monday, customer moves in on Thursday. It's going to be tight, so I work till I am too tired, go home, do the necessary chores, go to bed, get up again at 5am, etc. etc. etc. I'll take a couple days off, then have to start the next one the following Monday. Hey, you got to make it while you can, right?
