Angie's L.

Sorry guys if this is an old topic, but I'm not in the mood to scroll postings to find if this has been a topic.
So whats the deal w/Angie's list?? do people actually pay a monthly subscription just to post good/bad feed back about their contractor? and as a contractor, the only way to get on Angie's list is for one of your clients to be a member and recommend you???

Bet if you pay them to advertise, they let you on too. But yes, that's what I hear. Supposed to eliminate self posting.

AL used to be only way to get on was to have a client put you on, now you can advertise and you get the top positions, I have several clients off AL and they were great clients, seems like AL is positioning to become another rip off.

They are only doing the natural thing, monetizing their web site because they have huge traffic and members that contractors will pay to advertise in front of.
