After 10 Years I Lost My Innocents!

Well, I finally got bit. I dont even remember how it happened.
Got my hand on the bottom of the miter saw after I let off the trigger an somehow my hand came up into the bottom of the blade as the guard was coming down.

Looks like things are all still there, minus a nerve or two. I'm glad to hear it wasn't a horrible accident. Keep safe.

Ouch!
Sorry to see that.
Did you nick it and patch it yourself or was there more to it?

That's happened to me twice on a Chop saw. I do a quick count and find the digits are still there and still well attached. Then I realize that I was a fraction of an inch away from losing a finger

Be careful out there, this ain't child's play!

Glad to see you came out OK Warner. You'll be a little sketchy next time you pull the trigger on that saw, but it goes away.

There are 5 staples under there. The doctor wanted to know if I wanted it to look good or wanted to get the heck out of there.

I chose option 2 because I am not a hand model!!

Just doing my part to help anyone I can become a better Contractor.

It is NOT just about the product that we turn out. It is OFTEN MORE about how we present the PROMISE of a product!

Best check to make sure,
but that hand is supposed to be
connected to the brain!

Glad it's no worse, maybe
a cheap warning to clear the
Green Fog off your mind.

Re: After 10 Years I Lost My Innocents!

You carpenters are uncommonly brave. I can't even use a table saw, circular saw, or a miter saw because they scare me so bad. Gives me the willies everytime they fire up. Same thing with nailguns. Can't stand em. Have to build decks with a jigsaw and a hammer because I just can't get over it.

Oddly enough bricksaws and chainsaws don't bother me a bit. I think it's the shape of the blade that I can't stand. Woodcutting circular blades just look wicked.

Anyway I hope you heal up fine. Your wound looks very professionally dressed. Are you going to lose any mobility in your hand?
