The size of room, how many cuts, 2x2 or 2x4 panels, have you installed it before - if so how long did it take you, do you have rotary laser, can you walk on stilts, your overhead, margins & markup, etc... are all items you have to consider.

I know some professional crews that can do around 7500+ sf in about 4 hours (wide open space - hardly any cuts) - it would take me forever compared to them

National Estimator prices are .97 for 2x2 (labor only), .73 for 2x4 (Also labor only & add .23 per SF for jobs under 400 SF. Material costs you can get from your supplier

Hope this helps

Used to install them ourselves, then realized we could hire an acoustic-ceiling install company for less, and.....still make money off of them installing....

I just did some charged 165.00 an hour for 4 and 1/4 guys (the 1/4 was drunk) It took me over two weeks. Maybe that will help you price it out.

Re: Acoustical Ceilings ;question How To Bid??

A formula I use sometimes.

SF / 48 = # of Mains
Mains x 6 for 4' T's
Mains x 6 For 2' T's
Mains x 3 for wires if less than 3' drop
Average of mains x 3 for wall angle but I would rather measure.

In the end there are always returns but that is much better than falling short.

Material around here is $1300/ 1000 sq ft with Donn grid and Radar 2120 2x2 tiles.

Hope this helps with the material end as for the labor you are on your own. If I gave you NJ labor rates you would have no work.

They are offering you the ceiling? You are buying the ceiling, or are you asking what to charge to install it?
