9 Foot Ceilings Or 8 Foot Ceilings With Treys?

We have been building spec homes with textured 9 foot ceilings. My framer suggested going with 8 foot ceilings in the next house with trey ceilings in the bedooms. He believes that the customer will be as impressed with the 8 foot ceilings with the treys as with the 9 foot textured ceilings.

Opinions?
