Re: 3 Day Kitchen And Bath

Well, I guess if you can build a house in 2.5 hours with permits and inspections, then I guess a 3 day kitchen is achievable. We do some pretty crazy equipment change outs on night shifts. All it takes is a good plan and a good team.

I have heard of them, they throw in pre fab stuff; doesnt always take three days sometimes longer - its a sales gimmic. They will try to upsell you on a custom job once they have your attention.

Re: 3 Day Kitchen And Bath

kind of like a certain roofing company in the Southeast Michigan area with tv commercials and radio ads advertising $19.99 per sq. On the commercial it shows $19.99 per 10sq ft. So it sounds like an amazing deal until you realize thats still $200 a sq. Then they tack on extra if you have a steep roof, "custom" metal flashings for chimneys, etc.

I think the idea of the 3 day kitchen&bath is to get in the door and get the job, then take as long as they need to because the customer already agreed to start the work.

Sure it can be done in 3 days, I've done cabinets/countertop replacement in dozens of kitchens in 3 days, but nothing changed except the cabinets and tops, all cabinets stayed the same size, etc.

Re: 3 Day Kitchen And Bath

Nice of you to show up. I have also completed kitchen remodels in 3 days but bathrooms are a much tougher deal because of inspections.

How do you manage to demo, install new drains, have those inspected, cover floor, pour shower pan, have it inspected, electrical alterations, have those inspected, then ofcourse building framing and hvac inspections.

The point is the math doesnt add up when calculating an actual overhaul completed in compliance to actual building codes. Not saying you cant do it but am curious as to how the logistics work.

Define "complete remodels."

Is this just stripping the kitchen of all appliances, fixtures, cabinets, etc., and using the existing available space with out any "major" changes?

Or is this a full gut, down to the studs, "Move this here, let's put that there" kind of remodel?

Re: 3 Day Kitchen And Bath

I have a feeling the marketing rep wont respond with anything substantive regarding rushing the construction process. The fact is the company markets well to the now generation. Most of us know the actual process to do it right and how long that takes to fruition. Nothing against them its just a different business model more akin to bath fitter and less similar to WrightWorks..

At the end of the day lipstick on a pig gets you a pretty pig..

Re: 3 Day Kitchen And Bath

I would say a 3 day marketing pitch is genius. Not everybody wants a $25000 bathroom. I bet he's busy as all get out. Who's his competition? Nobody!

How many contractors can make this claim in his market? Nobody! He specializes, it's genius for sure.

With a brand like that what does the consumer think? When they hear "3 day bathroom" it appeals to a unique crowd and makes a direct statement. I absolutely love it.

In any given town say you have 10 GC's pitching kitchen and baths. They all say the same thing. They all blend and there's not a dime of difference between them as far as the consumer is concerned. Then steps in another contractor who defines his market position perfectly clear. Now that he defines it he owns that space in the market.

A business like that can be franchised nationwide. It can be systemized and controlled. It's efficient. It's predictable.

Love it!

Re: 3 Day Kitchen And Bath

There is a company here called Re-Bath that advertises 1 day bathroom remodel, but all they do is a polymer tub insert and surround. They look nice, and it is a good product, but they only do the tub and shower. To me that is hardly a "remodel" They are more expensive than a new tub and a custom tile surround, but people go for it all the time. They don't do sheetrock, flooring, tile, electrical, vanities, toilets or anything.
