10 Hour Osha Course

anyone know about the requirement of OSHA to take a 10 hour course and get a certificate?
I think this may apply only to NYC, but supposedly, anyone that pulls permits for construction work needs to have this by June 30 or face stiff fines?

Re: 10 Hour Osha Course

I don't know about NYC, but I took up an offer to attend the class, sponsored by the NRCA for free.

It was well worth attending, if just for the manuals alone, but there was quality discussions to be enhanced on.

I would recommend it for anyone, even if you think you know the rules. You will find out quite a few misnomers and errors in general assumptions are readily held beliefs, but not part of the act.

Re: 10 Hour Osha Course

Some times community colleges offer the course. It's easy, just boring to listen for 10 hours. If people don't ask too many questions you can get done in 8 hours.
Good Luck

Ours was 10 hours to the minute. If anyone would have left early, they were told they would not get the certificate.

Re: 10 Hour Osha Course

i took the 30 hour in college and the 10 hour after i started at Whiting-Turner. the 10 hour was a 2 day class, 5 hours each day. dont be late. pretty basic stuff. If you call the local osha office they can get you a list of the closets classes.
