Quickbooks And The Bank
I've decided to give it a shot. I've been a little leary for the last couple of years. I called my bank and signed up for it. They gave me three months free of charge (the only thing they've given me for free). After that, it's $10 a month. Not too shabby if it helps. My question(s) is, if you make manual entries in the QB bank ledger, does it duplicate your entries on downloads? Anyone use it? Anyone hate it?
Thanks Mike |

Re: Quickbooks And The Bank
No duplications. When you download each entry will try to match up with something in your register, you will be asked to "create and alias" for something it doesn't recognize. For things it completely doesn't recognize or find in your register you can add it then on the fly.
I would be careful that you just don't add every name as it comes in from the bank, IE: Lowes 38475 Store could become one vendor and Lowes 40328 Store could be another, so if you teach it to "create alias" for all the Lowes with the alias being "Lowes", it will learn to just post all the different Lowes store purchases to "Lowes". I love it for myself. It's like doing a bank rec every day!!!

Re: Quickbooks And The Bank
My husband loves his debit card, so there are a lot of entries on the ledger. I love the download capability. It's great. Credit cards that participate can be downloaded too.

Thanks! I'm ready to do some serious work on it shortly. I need to add products and some articles.
Must write articles first though....

Re: Quickbooks And The Bank
Your bank charges you a fee for this?? I'm a bit surprised, is that common? I thought every bank/credit card company was providing QB and other Major brands dowload interface as a service to get our business.

Re: Quickbooks And The Bank
I like this feature so much, that I'm thinking of getting a different personal bank account for my personal record keeping. I have USAA and they don't download into QB, only Quicken. I love USAA, but this is a real drag. My business accounting is such a breeze because of the downloading from the website. I don't have to key so much info as I used. to.
