Re: Quick Books Question
The check number I'm ok with, I agree with you on that one. The one i'm trying to get to work in 2008 is the warning when you pay a sub that's insurance is expired. I can't get my accountants edition to toggle to the contractor edition which is a benefit of having the accountants version. Another consultant I know is having the same problem so I'll research that, but because I can't toggle to the contractor edition I can't test the work comp exp warning. It worked in 2007, so I imagine it works in 2008.

Re: Quick Books Question
As you stated, 07 Premier does have the insurance warning. And 2008 Premier is listed to have the same feature. I don't believe any of the Pro versions have it available.

Re: Quick Books Question
Sarah, I'm having to close company file before toggling in Accountant 08.
When the No Company Open window comes up, just ignore it and select File, Toggle. Once toggled, you can then open your working file. Hope that works for you. BTW, I have not been able to get this warning to pop up either when simulating Pro 08 or in Contractor 08 from the Accountant 08 version.

Re: Quick Books Question
Yeah...it worked, I thought I was going to have to reinstall the software. And...the work comp exp date worked too.. So I can confidently say Mike that yes, it works in 2008.
Thanks for that tip Double A, in 2007, I didn't have to be all the way out like that.

Re: Quick Books Question
Sarah, what did you do to get the workers comp to work. I still have yet to get it to work.

Re: Quick Books Question
This is maybe too simple of an answer but did you make sure the one you were trying to pay had a date set for work comp expire that has already past?

Re: Quick Books Question
Yup. I'm working in a sample company for this. I've tried several things to get it to work. I think there is a bigger problem as I can't get reports to work when I filter on this field, even when my filter=data in that field (via cut and paste).
I think something are brokened.

Re: Quick Books Question
Could one of you guys tell that other thread about this workers comp date feature in QB? It hurts me to hear them not knowing about workers comp rules on subs.
I went up north last week to work with a company. When will owners learn that it takes time and education to get a bookkeeper to run their business right when whey are out running around doing the jobs. She can't make decisions for him when he's not there and he is not interested in being in the office, but he still is the boss. OWNERS MUST GIVE THEIR OFFICE STAFF THE TIME AND PATIENCE TO DO THEIR JOBS RIGHT. It frustrates me to go in and train when the people say "I don't know, that's Joe's decision", but Joe is never there and when he is, his mind isn't on the books. ARGGG
