Maxwell American Contractor

Does anyone else use this software? We bought it over a year ago and are just starting to use it... what a disappointment! It is full of nothing but problems! Out dated and disappointing!

We concur

To a very real extent this program is not functional. And, to make matters worse, the company ignores issues and the customer rather than responding proactively. I would like to discuss and share experiences and maybe we could come up with some course of action to get results.

American Contractor issues

We have used the software for about five years now. We've had some successes and some real disappointments with the product and the support. While we spend thousands of dollars each year for support, it really only gets us upgrades and solutions to hard crashes. Anything remotely considered "training" and or "custom report" gets bumped for additional $$$. Their web reporting system works inconsistently as well, sometimes never logging support issues at all. I've spoken to numerous people at Maxwell about my issues, but I've not seen any real changes in their approach to customer satisfaction. I would say this to anyone considering purchasing AC; check it out well, talk to other contractors in your trade and get training and startup plans in writing up front before the purchase. And after that, plan on spending at least 50% of your purchase price each year on training, support and custom reports. If that is, you want to "grow" with your accouting software.

Do you have version 8.1? Did you have a trainer assigned to you?
