Send me your email Jesse, I might have something you can print that would help.

My classes are not happening right now. I haven't had people sign up. Send her to the free once a month session though, it would be wonderful because she'd be the only one there if it goes as it has been. NO One signs up. I don't get it, but oh well. If you need any time from me one-on-one, just give me a call, phone number is on the website. I do on line training and consulting all the time, it's a great way to learn, we are on line together, i can see your screen, you can see mine, we can share mouse control and I call you on the phone for voice communication. A headset would be nice for her, but not necessary.

I really think that Myonlinetoolbox has a good concept with the web base application. But looking at the videos they have away to go to reach the remodeling/contractor business. Until a you can import labor, material, sub cost etc numbers into the program it will be a hard to sell to a wide range of contractors. They either need to have an import feature or one of the cost data bases available with an editing feature to customize for each contractor. There is no way I would manually imput all my data into a program I have over 10,000 entries in my estimating program now

I would hire out to a software engineer consultant and get a program custom designed to fit your needs... shouldn't take that long for an experienced software guy/gal to do

or pick up a C++ book and teach yourself

Tried it it was to expense to be worth it, for a halfway decent system.

Re: I've Outgrown QuickBooks, What Now?

We used PeachTree and then QB Contractor. We do HVAC, plumbing, and some electrical. We wanted accounting and scheduling software for dispatching and job costing and payroll. A few years ago we went with Aptora Total Office Manager. We are sticking with it and like it. It has more features than we will ever use. It is more powerful than QuickBooks but a little harder to use. It is easier to use than PeachTree though and does a lot more. They converted all of our QB accounting history too. The key is getting the software and accounting training. I resisted all of that at first but realized it is essential. You also need a great bookkeeper. Make sure your wife or someone you totally trust does all of the bank reconciliations.

This commercial message was brought to you by the fine folks of Aptora...

Tiger, we bought Total Office Manager about four years ago. I'm not real good with the software but our bookkeeper is. We are not Aptora. We do HVAC in Shawnee KS. I tried to leave my website for you to check us out but the system would not allow it (it is our company name plus ks).

Re: I've Outgrown QuickBooks, What Now?

Seems strange that anyone with a HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing business would dig up, and respond to an old post and recommend software as their first post. I tried something from Aptora before they changed their name and the product and customer service sucked big time.

Sadly the same thing can be said for your company . . . and mine. Who among us doesn't have someone out there that thinks we "suck". Aptora is located in the same county we're in. I do know the owner. He's is a long time contractor here. He seems to be the kind of guy who would fix and mistake brought to his attention. I'm sure he's no more perfect that you are.

Aptora total office manager is brutally unfinished and the support that you pay 2 grand for a year gets you a phone call within 4 hrs, it's a disgrace really.

Re: I've Outgrown QuickBooks, What Now?

We have outgrown our accounting system and need to purchase a new software. We have had a demo with Construction Partner (constructionpartner.com) This software seemed to do everything that we want. Does anyone have any experience with this company and have any feedback?

Thanks
