Porch Posts - turned

anyone got suggestions on a good vendor/supplier for REAL wood turned porch columns???

seems everyone's got the PVC ones, but not real wood/structural

tough to find locally - found a co. in Jacksonville but I'm not liking the price.

Figured I'd better ask the experts.....you guys....

Don't know about you but,
I can go to any one of three
lumber yards and either order
or pick from stock.
As we speak we seem to be
surrounded by people trying
to sell columns!

He meant Menards, a lumber yard that's a distant cousin to HD and Lows

I was getting ready to post a link to a company online that sells 4x4 and 6x6 wood turned columns but after reading your response to 4 serious replies, I figure you can go find 'em your own damn self...

Mac- How old do you have to be to be able to get on here and ask questions?

Oh well, its winter and I guess there are a few more slow people on here than normal!!

You do have a way with words too! P.S. Hows the porch roof going?

All through the first 6 posts
GoogleClick supplied ads for
two column suppliers.
A look down or to the right
would have supplied some
answers at least.

you two are both puds - not sure why you would take the time to respond to a genuine question with snide responses. Unless, you are just puds.

Myself, I try to help the folks on here when I have info that might help

My suggestion would be to just ignore the question unless you have a real response; one other than "find someone to make them" or "find them your damn self"

I wish the two of you all the luck in the world - apparantly work is slow on your end. That sucks.

Seriously, find someone to make them was my real answer. How hard is that to understand.

If you find someone that can make a collumn, he should be able to make you what ever you need.

And it will probably be easier and fairly close cost wise. Plus your choice of wood.

Derek, I dont think he gets it.

I made some tapered, sliding dovetail columns before. They were pretty simple but, fun.
