New Website

Sorry for the duplicate post.

I just noticed this new section on the forums.

The link to my test site is here: http://www.gocohome.com/testsite/

Please post whatever feedback you're willing to share. Thanks in advance.

Re: New Website

Personally, a bit too wordy for me. Looks too much like sell, sell, sell. But that's just me.

I like the layout, though.

JSYK, one of your images doesn't work.

The picture did not come right away, but it did appear. (Safari 4)
Your "poject" blog comes up 404, the font in the box on left is hard to read.
Like sparky, I like the layout and color, except wordy and words all over, my eyes did not know where to go first.

I still can't see it. I let it cycle through 10-12 times. I can click on any other image and get the properties, except for that one.

The photo frame on the right seems to be moving much slower than the other two. Often, the image is blank, as you're experiencing. I'll get to work on that.

As for being too wordy, I was concerned about that as well. I think the message needs to be more straight forward and to the point.

Thanks for the feedback.

.

As for all the text on the home page at the bottom, I would create another tab and direct clicks there to it. Title it something like "Free Initial Consultation".

The image on the right cycles through, but one photo just won't show up. At least for me, anyways.

Re: New Website

I think the site is really nice. Layout is good. I don't get why everyone said it was wordy

Re: New Website

I don't care what RB's thinks, I like the blue and white color. I heard he was color blind anyway, or else he would have been an electrician.

Good layout
I would rewrite your content a bit. What are the benefits? Show benefits without using words like quality, experienced ect. Put a little of yourself into the site. You can be a benefit.

Contact form too long. Just get them to contact, you don't need to know if they found you on Yahoo, Google or Little Red Riding Hoods **** party site.

I would shorten up the contact page and get a call to action on that page.
Pictures are very nice, thumbnails a little small.
I like the sidebar where they can go to your blog, or the 203K page.
I'll look again tomorrow so I can see how it looks on a second visit.

Re: New Website

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I'll work on the items suggested and try to get this thing published by the end of next week.

Any insight into the SEO part of the site would be helpful. I tried to include the relevant keywords throughout the content, my web designer is handling the meta tags, we're using google analytics, and I'll be updating the blog regularly so that there will be fresh content. Anything else I should be doing, other than participating in forums, linking the site in discussions, etc?
