New Logo

i'd like to get some feedback on this new logo that i came up with...
I was going for something that would stand out and would be representative( somewhat) for my business... the previous one is on my current website, which will probably be updated soon(new color scheme, new menu, new logo obviously, more pages, etc).
current logo is on the site : www.getyourfloors.com
now, i did all this(site logos, etc) myself with no help at all, so i konw it's probably far from perfect. photoshop layout made from scratch, sliced by yours truly, imported in dreamweaver as template, and so on....
let me know what you guys think.
this is the new logo:

Re: New Logo

Are you going for interlaced squares (CT AVATAR) or interlaced Diamonds?

I like the squares better.

One question..............

How are the shapes related to you, you trade or your Company?

They are attractive, but there should be some significance.

Re: New Logo

was going for squares (the one in the avatar) but the bigger pic is skewed. i do hardwood floors, and that is one type of inlay that i've done in the past. I don't know if it looks cheap(not to me it doesn't). i wanted something not to "crowded" that would stand out. what would you suggest instead of this, noah? have tried one with a circular blade, but it wouldn't look good in print or on a t-shirt, etc...

this is the new logo:
Not bad. Not bad at all... (I might send you some freelance work )

A tip on your site. You might try changing the aspect ratio of your photos so that they don't stretch. Use a DIV statement and let the text wrap around the right side. I think I know what you are trying to do by stretching it to the right but I think (just MHO) is takes away from an otherwise great job !! If you need help / ideas contact me...
