Have You Used This Hosting Service

Just wondering, does anybody have any feedback on the hosting service that tinner666 offers?

I'm sorry nobody answered you though some here, and many at the roofing forums use me. I won't mention anybody, but maybe somebody will see the bump and reply.

I use Tinner and have been satisfied. He also educated me on some technical talk so that I could get the basic understanding of this thing they call the internet. Seriously though, you won't find a better guy to work with.

Tinner, your offer is through godaddy, if I'm not mistaken?....a Godaddy affiliate program where the reseller gets a cut of the deal.

Yes. Same deal, same store, different door, just lower price.
GD buys names for about $2.00 and makes about $8.00 each.
They're sold to me for $7.00. No much cut there until I get 43,000,000 clients.

Same hosting, etc.

That's more than what Godaddy offers when you deal with them directly! IMHO having a trades person that understands hosting, the internet, our business, and English is a great choice for a middleman for hosting.

Re: Have You Used This Hosting Service

OK. Here's the story. No sympathy or crying please.
I'm just a regular roofer/remodeler. I don't like crying on forums either, so here's the short version.

About 4 years ago, wife got cancer. I lost a lot of time in hospitals and home care. The franchise seemed like a way to earn something, and I've never stinted from helping others here and elsewhere anyway, so it just seemed like another way to keep helping.
I'm just cheaper and we all save a little and gain a little. End of 'rant'.

I'll still answer questions of 'non' clients, as I consider all here to be friends and the sharing has always been 2-way here.

( Tomorrow is another hospital day, in an unending stream)

Almost all Website Developers have some account for reselling hosting services. For instance I am a reseller of HostGator. Some include the hosting for free some include the website for free when you purchase the hosting.

This business is not unlike your own. You get what you pay for. Tinner I am sure does excellent work and I can assure you he is not making much on the hosting he provides !!! In the end you need to feel comfortable about the support you are getting - unless you have the talent as a DIY web designer . If you want to shop for hosting prices alone you can find hosting dirt cheap. But don't expect any ongoing support. We have a plan with a DIY site creation tool for instance that works great, but you still need to know what you are doing and in the end who do you call if you need help?? There is something for everyone out there including companies that spend in the THOUSANDS for sites that transact major eCommerce over the internet. But there is no free lunch as you all know..!

Most contractors don't need to spend over $1000 for a professional website but by the same token, like any other trade, if you don't know what you are doing, you can end up very disappointed in the end from what you do yourself.

The main thing is that you have an online presence that at least looks like it was professionally done and reflects the quality of the work you do for the residential or commercial customer !! It can be your best silent sales person if done right with a nice looking Showcase Gallery.

Once you have it set up then you need to market it. Build it and they will come does not work online unless you know how to optimize the site for your local customers.
