Follow My SEO

Hey all,
I've been learning a bunch about SEO lately, jesus is it a long process. I now have my website in the top 3 for the search term "Etobicoke Landscapers." The next search term I'm going to optimize for is "Toronto Landscapers."

I've decided to post what I am doing for SEO here because it seems that some here think it is a voodoo art. Currently I am on the 16th page for my targeted search term. Ill update this every so often with what I've been doing SEO wise and my updated ranking.

Hope you guys have fun reading

Re: Follow My SEO

So today has been a little SEO absent.

I added a link with the anchor text to my signature here at CT as well as on V7N.com which is an awesome SEO resource with wicked PR for member profile pages.

I did some on page optimization: Changed my title tag to include "Toronto Landscapers" as well as added the term to my meta keywords. I increased the keyword density on my homepage as well.

I wrote one article today and submitted it to Blogfillr and then re wrote it and submitted it to CopyPasteArticles. Both have a section which allow links which are dofollow. I used the anchor text Toronto landscapers there as well. I then pinged the articles and used "Social Marker" to increase traffic to them so they get indexed faster.

I am also theming a Wordpress blog for a nice lady who is paying me with a link on her index page soon.

Thats all for today, if you have any questions let me know

Re: Follow My SEO

So today I focused on blog commenting.

I used Google and searched "dofollow blog search" and used a couple of the search engines that came up to search for blogs with my keywords and left quality comments on relevant blog posts. I used targeted anchor text in the name section of the comment.

I also commented on nofollow blogs. I searched my keywords and on Google hit "show options" then click blogs. Google then shows me blogs with my keywords which I can comment on.

I also signed up for Google alerts which will email me once a day with recently updated relevant blogs.

I also created a Wordpress blog that I will post articles in and link back to my website. TorontoLandscapers.Wordpress

I am currently on the top of page 11 for the term "Toronto Landscapers" Woot!

Re: Follow My SEO

I have Google Analytics installed and its a great stats tool. For my keyword "etobicoke landscapers" I have seen a growth in traffic however it is the beginning of Febuary here and with the snow on the ground not many people are searching landscaping just yet. I have yet to get a hit from "Toronto Landscapers."

That being said there is a reason that a first page listing on Google for "web hosting" is worth about $30,000 and a listing on the 4th or 5th page is worth nothing. People tend to drill down through the rankings often stopping on the first or second page.

I don't expect any dramatic rise in traffic until I get to the first page which could take a couple weeks, a month or a couple months.

Edit: This thread is on the 10th page for "Toronto Landscapers" haha

Re: Follow My SEO

i am new to SEO and get confused when it comes to tags, code, and anchor text. Do you have to know how to write computer code to do all of these things?
