Does My Site Need A SSL Certificate?

Does a remodeling site need a SSL Certificate?
Or is that for websites that gathers credit card info for purchases?

It's to protect Credit Card and bank information. You shouldn't need one unless you are collecting payment info. SSLs are mostly for ecommerce sites, shouldn't see you having any need for one.
