Your opinion: Are ServiceMagic's project categorization schemes TOO precise???

I was browsing around their front-end customer request process. I was wondering if you guys thought it was a bit too precise? For example, in the Roofing category, a customer can drill down to:
Roof, Siding & Gutter > Roofing - Install or Replace > Flat, Foam, or Single Ply Roofing - Install or Replace etc.

From a contractor's point of view, if you're a roofing contractor do you really care that its Flat, Foam or Single Ply Roofing?

As I'm typing this I think I'm answering my own question. I suppose some roofers only have the material or expertise in metal roofing but not in asphalt shingle roofing? Applying the 80/20 rule, do you think the majority of roofers (for example) just need to know its a Roofing - Repair job or what the material is?

At what level on that drill down to contractors on SM mark their interest in receiving those leads?

Thanks!

Banning Blatant Spammers:

Posted: December 12th, 2008

When posting a job, customers are required to provide an email address. The job will not be posted until the user verifies the email address by clicking on a link in the email.

We’ve decided to also use this as a tool to control blatant spammers. We are creating a “blacklisted emails” table that will not allow abusers to post any more jobs. Although this won’t stop all the spam jobs, it should make it more difficult for spammers to post fake job profiles.

We are also looking into a “commuity-driven” blacklisting / spamming feature where contractors can quickly and easily flag jobs as “SPAM” to help keep the community clean. More on this feature in future posts
