What Do You Think Of These Companies?

What do you think of these companies?
Merchant circle
Fixsor
Yourcontractordirect
Yodle

And some other local search which are free, Google, Local, Yahoo, etc.

I have listed my company in a few of the sites above to increase my business profile online as I bulid my site - I will add them to those site to help in search.
Are their any others I should used to help my online profiile to be seen more?
I belive in more site you add your company too the more reach you can get and more google will rank your website in their results – after tons of reading this is my concludison of how Google rank your site.
I am done spending money on servicemagic, calfinder, renovateexperts and the rest of **** that’s our there.
Any help in helping each other achieving the goal of getting our own traffic via search results would be great.

So you have a website? Use the sig line for it & put it in your profile, along with your location - Backlinks help your search results

You might want to do so major reading on SEO over in the Marketing Area

Yep,

We just took it down for some revamp - will put it back up and ad my site in the sig area you mention

What can contractors like my self do to gain more from the net as I'm having a hard time in this market to gain more business.

I guess I'm not a lone in this.

Re: What Do You Think Of These Companies?

After doing so more reading on the net

I found that Google will count backlinks

Back link is a link that's pointing to your site from others.

More relevant if it's pointing to your site from the same niche - construction, contractors blogs...directories etc.

So i find site like, fixsor.com and merchant circle.com are good ways to improve your back links and gain better rank in Google search engine

I under also you want to target that keyword in your back link for that ranking to show higher..

Any suggestion..

All I know about Merchant Circle is that they fill up my inbox with worthless crap every day. Stuff like, "The Avon lady wants you in her circle" and other similar nonsense.

I found Merchant circle is not bad as i have gotten a few good connect with follow business owners not exactly my niche but connects to help get the word out more...

Look i feel every little grain counts in online marketing - from the small guys to the big guys if it's next too or near too my business I'm going to get listed to gain more back links and better search ranking ......

Nowadays things are TOUGH ..

By the way, for Merchant Circle members, you really should check out there forum to know the ins and outs of getting more out of it than just entering your company information.

Merchant Circle must provide some pretty good Google Juice, because it is one of the 4 referral sites that has my company listed on page one for my home town and a few other near by ones.

Re: What Do You Think Of These Companies?

Being on the first page of Google for a keyword that's only gets about 1k searches a month will not ensure you lots of traffic.

Being on Google for a well searched keyword will get you tons of traffic.
Home improvement, general contractors, local contractors etc...will get you you tons of traffic to your site.

These are keywords that search thousands of times daily.

Anyone can get to the first page for a keyword that's not searched or high in search to gain users to call you or get leads.

The key is to get in with a keyword that's searched thousands of times

painter
roofer
home improvement
remodeling
contractor
general contractor
local contractor

etc..
