Unhappy Service magic better than the rest

I know other contractors that use them and are on the fence their service. They get some work out of them but for a heavy price.

What are you willing to pay?

Every lead is what I consider a hopeful disappointment. You'll get several leads a month at an expensive rate and maybe have one out of 6 that you'll get the opportunity to talk to a semi qualified prospect. It is a roll of the dice and SM is always the winner.

What is 'expensive' ? Can you clarify that a little, please?

Oh, yeah btw. If I would get you a bathroom reno job, lets say for $8000.00 . What would you be willing to pay for that?

Thank's

Well, I am not selling anything! Sorry, no luck here.
I was just wondering, as everyone is complaining about the lead companies being too 'expensive' what an $8000 bathroom job would be worth for them.

Thank's

The complaints about lead companies are not that they are too expensive. It's that they rip people off.Send you leads that are dead, send you leads of tire kickers, send you leads that they also sent to 10 other contractors ect:.

So, they charge you for nothing. Just hot air.
Why is there none of them (correct me if I'm wrong) charging by the job?
That must be a very lucrative business as the competition can close up shop then.

Because they can't make any money selling actual jobs, they sell leads. And will promise you the world....But hey if they are working for you great..I would keep it a secret before the word get's out...

I have never signed up with one of them. I'm from Ontario Canada and came across handycanadian. I looked through their webpage and did my homework to figure out: NO WAY
They charge a monthly fee for 6 or 12 mths contract.
Claim they have around 4800 contractors signed up and, get this, 395 active jobs in total for all of them. Total Budget For All Active Job Postings : $14,544,100.00 that's $36820/job! BS at its finest!
Further they are into dating sites and all kinds of other fast get-rich rippoffs.

Sorry that I highjacket this thread, but this type of rotten business practice always make my hair rise in the back of my head.

Thank you

SM Makes Big Money

Do you really think Sm gives a rats ass about complaints. They grossed over 100 million and maybe .0000009 % complain, the few guys that are on this site.

They read these complaints and laugh their asses off, what would you do if you made 100 million worry about a few of us complainers.

It was once good for me but has turned to crap, no leads just if you can contact a client tire kickers

Specialty trades seem to be getting work

Sm

Steve, we monitor our online reputation and do care about what is said. I was unable to find your company in our system, maybe listed under a different company name? Please feel free to contact me anytime if you'd like to discuss your current account or your experience with a previous account. Either way, I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Shawn

Shawn, just for the record:

How many contractors receive a certain lead, through you and/or your affiliates? Is it 3? or 4? or 10, 20?

Thanks.

J

And it seems that people have a very hard time getting credited for bogus leads:

Any comment?

Leads

J, we match up to 4 Pros per service request. If a homeowner submits additional service requests for different types of work, then they could potentially end up with more than 4 pros trying to contact them.

What's your take on all the negative comments regarding sm on this forum and jlc and fine homebuilding?

I mean there are just tons of people who've had problems with sm...and only a VERY few who think sm works ? (kowboy pipes in on all 3 forums of his great experience)

Thanks,

J

Leads

That is correct J, never more than 4. I registered to the referred site and am reading the thread. Is there anything in particular to be looking for?

Would you consider starting a thread in each forum, looking for feedback of sm users and then answering their concerns and complaints?

You would get a lot of useful information I would think.
