Re: RenovationExperts.com
I pay 80 a month for Ren-ex and see as many leads as 20-30 leads, but I can only accept 6 at that price. I've gotten a couple jobs, I cant really complain.

Re: RenovationExperts.com
A women named Heather Richards has been calling me for months trying to get me to use this service. She told me 325.00 a month for three months minimun. And that I can look at all the leads but only bid on 10. When I ask her if I could try it for one month the answear was no. If the leads are so good wouldnt you continue to use service after the first month? 325 a month would buy a nice yellow page add.

Re: RenovationExperts.com
Grinder:
I was grandfathered in from RenEx from three years ago at unlimited accepts at $150 per month. They have recently merged with BobVillaContractors.com and wanted me to go from unlimited at $150 to 15 at $325. I only have averaged seven accepts per month on about 20 leads in my area (I am the only contractor within 100 miles out here on their service) so I negotiated 7 accepts for $175.00. I only accept roofing leads for them now and usually get my seven and most of the time the roofs are insurance claim related so I close nearly all of them. I hate lead services, but this one pays for itself with me, anyway. Probably b/c I have no competition out here. If I was in Dallas, I wouldn't do it...I would pay for the ad or something else. They all lie and are crooked as hell and they re-sell leads that get so watered down by the time we get them people are pissed when we call. However, if you are a start up, it's a good way to get in front of people at first....just expensive. Overall, since we have used them for three years including when we were doing full service remodeling, I would get 2 appts from 10 leads and sell one of them. It did pay for itself many times over, but I still hate leads services.

Re: RenovationExperts.com
Renovation experts suck. To be honest, since merging with the whole Bob Villa thing, their suck leads got even suckier.
I was getting emails of the leads available, and it went from everything to replacing door knobs to repairing a torn screen on a window. I try to keep very close tabs in regards to the quality of leads as they come in, and I have to say I'm very discouraged with what I've been getting across the board from ALL of the services. Just yesterday, I got 4 leads from Reliable Remodeler. Called one lady as soon as they came in, and she claimed she already bought. I just got the damn lead less than 5 minutes ago!! 2nd lead, the guy who answered the phone was a contractor, just looking for a low-ball bid for a job he doesn't have time to do himself. The other 2--still waiting for them to either answer their phone or return my email. Keeping my fingers crossed in hopes these guys start getting their ***** together. g-a-r-b-a-g-e. Re: RenovationExperts.com
Now that's bad.
I remember the days when service magic would actually credit your card for the billed amount for that particular lead. Now what you get is a lead replacement, which means at that point you've already paid for a garbage lead...YOUR money is out, waiting for the next piece of ka-ka to hit your in-box. What to do, what to do. |

Re: RenovationExperts.com
Are you saying that you cannot see any of the Service Magic's Sales Lead detail before you decide to purchase it?

Re: RenovationExperts.com
no they send you lead and charge you. then its up to you to tell them its a bad lead. Then they sent it to accounting for rejection or credit or replace " they will get back to you soon" BS. Mark my words you will see them on 60 minutes or 20/20

I'd love to see that guy Chris Cuomo or whoever catch one of these greedy pricks coming out of his office and expose them for the touch-holes they are.

Re: RenovationExperts.com
Well, in the process of reading this thread, I'm definitely getting an education about how not to design and run a sales lead generating business. You can bet I will continue to watch the commentary here closely.

Re: RenovationExperts.com
RENOVATION EXPERT OR LEADS.COM is a scam. Paid $340 for one month to try it out. Only suppose to accept 10 leads per month, and only 4 contractors per lead. The lead pops up on my email, right away I accept, Sorry already accepted by 4 contractors. After one month, got nothing. Phone just rings and rings, already have a contractor, job is 1 or 2 hours away.
Renovation Experts charged my credit card another $340 for the following month. I did not authorize this charge, but he Chad Benson said, that I did not call to cancel. I did not sign any contract so I had nothing to cancel, but he had my credit card information, so he charged my account. He will not refund my money so I had to cancel my credit card, because he has all my information. These people stole my money, and they are getting away with it. Someone need to stop them!!!! |

Re: RenovationExperts.com
I will never give my CC number to a LGS again. 4 services, and I canceled 4 credit cards. They know we will do this and its all part of their methods.

We just sold a Renovations Experts lead.
And we were the only bid. I think I need to change my shorts.

Re: RenovationExperts.com
I've learned a great deal from this thread.
I think there is a need for a reliable Lead Generation Service, which accomplishes the following... 1. Contractors want only Qualified Leads and need to review them before purchasing and have a reasonable chance of competing for the job. 2. Homeowners want only Qualified Contractors to call and only the number of contractors they have specified. One point of observation... The Contractor who complained that the Sales Lead was "Sold Out", needs to understand that a well designed LGS must limit the number sold to be able to satisfy requirements 1 & 2 above. I'd like to hear comments about what a well designed LGS needs to deliver and at what cost to be of value to you. Thanks and Regards, Russell Cox

Re: RenovationExperts.com
To deliver what is promised for one. Am trying a new one now and am not getting anything that resembles the leads pitched to me when I signed up.
I previewed Reno experts leads for 3 months over the winter. After speaking to a couple of contractors using the leads, I could see they weren't tailored to my needs.

Re: RenovationExperts.com
Let me be more specific...
1. Most LGS have a subscription fee... what do you think is reasonable? 2. Some LGS charge for each Sales Lead... if you could review each Sales Lead to determine if it is in your interest, what's a reasonable cost? 3. Considering that Contractors want an opportunity to bid, and Owners don't want their request sent out to the world, how many Contractors should be able to purchase each Sales Lead? 4. If a Lead turned out to be bad, would a credit be ok (if it was promptly issued)? Regards, Russell Cox Quality Contractor Services
