Online Lead Services That Work?

Has anyone had any luck with any online lead services that DO work?? I know there are tons and tons of threads about those that don't work, but what about the ones that do?....

Let me know your thoughts!

Re: Online Lead Services That Work?

Well, lots of people say that different lead services work for them. I know 6 guy's that wouldn't trade SM for anything. On the other hand i have spoken to ohhhh...1000 guy's that said they got ripped off. Here's the big thing.... who do you believe?
It's hard to sort out truth from lies, it's hard to differentiate who followed what the lead services guidelines are. Keep in mind that not everyone is going to get a good return for the service.

If you check out SM you'll find that they offer tools such as market report for your area. This report shows where they have gotten leads from in your area and how close those leads were to you. This doesn't mean that the leads they got were listed in what you do. It also doesn't confirm if the leads are real or bogus, or if they are tire kickers or confirmed. The leads could be for gutter cleaning or powerwashing decks. It doesn't tell you that. They also don't tell you how many people you are competing against in an area. Although there are ways to determine that. I know through SM the only competition i have on windows within their service in my area is Sears. Same for siding.

I couldn't bring myself to sign up with SM or any other lead service because of the bad opinions i get on other sites. Also the market report they have for my area is weak. Very low hits in my service area. I have been watching SM for 6 months and keep stringing them along so i can see if they have an improvement. They haven't given up on me as yet.

When it comes to renovationexperts.com I freaked both of their salesmen out just talking to them over the phone and they never contacted me again. I knew too much about the falsities and bad dealings others have had with them.

I will say this for Leads.com. They gave me 8 free leads that trying to get me into the system. I wasn't doing windows at the time and they sent me 6 windows leads(full info). 1 of the others was a roofing repair job that turned out to be a rental property (South Carolina). The Iranian guy that lived in N.J.(owner) said it was just a repair. When i got there it turned out to be a full roof replacement and he wouldn't pay for that.I checked on the job 2 months later and found someone had come out and tarred the shingle roof with what appeared to be 100 gallons of tar.The last one was a broken cinderblock step that needed to be replaced. $150 i got for that.

Bidclerk.com, I can't say they are a bad company. They are low priced and easy to use. Anyone can view what they have available in their area without paying for it. You just have to pay to get the addresses, email, or phone numbers for what they have.Problem is as usual, they don't get many leads in my area.

I started getting info from Respond.com yesterday. So far i have been sent leads for 1 kitchen remodel in another state and 1 sunroom that is 65 miles from my service area.I haven't singed with them and probably won't just because they want $999 to get started with them. Well, they say i can get started with $250 and make monthly payments to get the $999 paid in 1 years time.

As i know this isn't what you were asking, I thought i would insert this info here as and aid for those NOT in the know about the lead services out there.

With any advertising. Run your own business. Make the decision about signing on with newspapers, tv, radio, flyers, business cards, personal websites, lead services, even word of mouth with foreknowledge and caution. Nobody can tell you what will or will not be good for your business.
Investigate, Learn, Dig into, whatever service for advertising you are using.Take your time and don't just jump into anything with both feet. Nobody here jumped out of highschool and into business. We all took our time to LEARN our crafts. When running a business, Take your time to LEARN what works and what doesn't.

Friendly advice from a lowly businessman!!
