Are you new to sm employment, it seems so? And nothing wrong with that, but do some research...

I'd think that anybody coming on this board and posting they are a SM rep would realize that it's not a secret that anybody could come on this board and anonymously present themselves as a SM rep.

I'd think an actual employee of SM who was authorized to represent the company would post their real name, their actual position with the company and a direct phone number to them in their signature in order to prove their authenticity.

Without that it's pretty safe to say the chances of somebody who hasn't proved their authenticity could just as easily be a 12 year old kid as an actual representative of the company.

I'm sure SM gaurds it's reputation pretty well through tens of thousands of dollars spent on company policy and has a very specific policy on how an employee is able to represent the company online.

Re: No Service Magic

Thanks, and you'll do much better after you've done a LOT of reading here and elsewhere, and then stating something along the lines of:

"I realize we've fvkd you guys for a long time...here's how we're going to change that...."

Until then...it's all been bs and more bs, and you'll see that when you do the homework...please, let us know how things are going to drastically change...at least for your paying customers

J...enjoy your weekend

Re: No Service Magic

SM Rep
You have a lot of guts to be in this forum. It seem's that your company idea is valid, but has serious flaws too. I have never been a client, but have heard nothing but bad news about your services.
On top of that, I have been on several forums. I know any forum is only as good as the current posters, but in my opinion this one currently truly captures the attitudes of us guys out in the trenches. (For the most part, I have found that this site has a following of truly full time, concientious contractors who are passionate about their work. It's evident if you look at some of the photographs of completed projects. Top shelf stuff!)
Try to sell us on the merits of your company! You have an audience for now, so don't blow it. These guys will eat you alive if you aren't honest. (PS, turn on spell check)

Re: No Service Magic

In my opinion SM and Home Depot both operate off the exact same mentality in dealing with contractors.

Both of them have business models that revolve around the homeowner, not the contractor.

Re: No Service Magic

"With this I will give the tell all what is tought to use, what is needed from our boss in my office.
I'm not here to fight or aruge, just state me case. "
(That was supposed to show up in the quote box!)

Calm down. The aforementioned "bad news" that I have been told about with regard to your company services did NOT all come from this forum. Many of my subs, and other high end general contractors that I deal with on a daily basis have tried SM and reported almost verbatum, what the posters here are calling you on.

If someone tells you that you are growing a tail, ignore them. If everyone you see tells you that you are growing a tail, you better turn around and look.

I was simply warning you that the posters in this forum for the most part are hard working, experienced craftsmen and businessmen who have been around the block. As you probably couldn't tell, judging from your rant at me, many of them are college educated, degreed, certified in many technical fields, and eager for new ideas and methods to grow their businesses.

If you are in this forum to right some wrongs your company may have been guilty of due to "growing pains", then more power to you for being a go-to guy.

If you are here to defend the alleged past actions of your company, I think you will be outwitted very quickly here.

Good luck with your thread. I'm sure there are many people interested in what you might have to say.

Re: No Service Magic

I'll tell you. If SM actually has no policy about it's employees going on line and representing the company I'm amazed. Or maybe that is just symptomatic of why they have so many problems.

So you're saying you are a manager at SM and you have just taken it upon yourself to come here and represent the company? The other person did the same thing?

This is the corporate policy of SM? To have no policy, to have no dedicated personnel who's duties are to deal with their online reputation? They don't have any care either way and if 1 employee or 100 want to spend their weekend going online and represent the company, just go for it?

Re: No Service Magic

Good for you. The idea of your company is great, but as you can see has some flaws.
The biggest one is that when referrals are forwarded, the contractor feels like he is making a cold call.
Keep digging for the truth, you might be just the guy they need to help turn the bad feelings in a new direction.
