New Linkedin Group on LGC's

Hello CT

I started a new group to discuss Lead Generation Companies on Linkedin.
The group has been blessed with the presence of Rory Swan and Paul Lesieur. A recent post on the NARI group has generated significant interest from contractors, Service Magic and Calfinder.
I am inviting CT members to join the new group called The Contractor Lead Generation Forum. We have some traction and interest from industry organizations so maybe this will help with continuing exposure of the challenge contractors are having with LGC's. Come join us!

Here is the link to the new group;

I would think it better to have the debates play out here in Contractor Talk for two reasons. The first is that the majority of the paying customers (meaning the contractors) are already here and LinkedIn really doesn't do as much for contractors as it does for them over here. Also, Contractor Talk is just for contractor issues. Just my two cents since I know many people are challenged in how many things they can join, etc., and I already learned it is better to stay where the masses congregate. I think you will find that most will stay within this forum.

Hello Brian
Thanks for the feedback. I have no intention of suggesting that members on CT leave this forum. Linkedin is another medium to expose the challenges that contractors have with the LGS's. I have found that many contractors do not participate on CT. This is a way to generate more momentum industry wide. Many of the trade publications and contractor trade organizations use Linkedin. This exposure to these organizations will keep this issue on the top of their mind. Wether or not they will chime in remains to be seen but they are being urged to participate.
On another note, Linkedin is fast becoming a useful social site and some exposure to the medium can help with SEO. I have not found a silver bullet yet on how to leverage Linkedin for business to consumer leads. However the group forums may be a way for contractors to show their expertise and create niche groups in thier geographic areas and attract the attention of business owners who own houses.
Any thoughts on that?

Just go to the doggone Linkedin forum and give your opinion, nobody's asking you to go over to the Dark Side.
There's a good reason Mark asked us over there, we need some opinions, does anybody here have an opinion

Hi Mark,
I will join you also over on the LinkedIn side since I am already there, but my instinct is that the replies from Contractors will even be less over at LinkedIn than over here on Contractor Talk. The big challenge I see is that everyone can see all the comments going back and forth here at Contractor Talk and then decide to reply. Over at LinkedIn, you can not see any the dialogue without first joining the group. That was my reasoning for suggesting to keep it here - but I will also contribute over there since I have been passionate about this changing topic since 2005 and it will be interesting to see where it leads us. See you there and here. To any contractors reading this ... please do offer opinions when reading forum topics, whether you agree or not, since many others are always trying to learn what the industry wants, is willing to pay for, etc. Every opinion does count.
Brian
