MyFreeEstimates - Contractors Be Ware

This is just as fair warning to all contractors either currently using MyFreeEstimate or considering it in the future.

A telemarketer called me about a package for $1400 instead of the $450 package. I told him no, next thing I see is my credit card charged 1400. Called in they said it was unintentional; yet they refused to credit the $1400 charge. We are in the process of disputing the charge.

Update 8/4/09 We still are unable to get our money back.

I looked online; apparently this is something they're accustomed to doing. It such a shame and infuriating knowing companies our doing this. Please help combat this kind of behavior; it disgusts me to know that they get away with this.
Educate people every where you go, shows, fairs, conferences. Please Don't let them get away with this.

Stupid question, but how did he get your card information? Unless you are currently subscribed to the $450 package. I would let them know that you are going to press fraud charges as well as dispute the charge.

uh oh.

My free estimates are the epitone of scum.

-Horrible customer service

-Fradulent charges

Probably even worse of a bottom-feeding parasite then Service Magic.

If you ever get a call from "Tara" or "Eric", offering you any type of service---run like your avoiding the plague.

We were one the pick and choose plan where we would accept the leads we want to accept based on a lead preview; which is the $450. That is how they had our card info.
Chris is another person you should run away from.

Those scum sucking rat bastards!

....Leads selling should be regulated by law, it should require all leads to be properly screened and NOT resold under several subsidiaries, 3 contractors Max.

I will never have anything to do with lead based services no matter what. I've read far too much negative.
