Lifetime Listing With YourContractorDirect.com

I was sent this email from YourContractorDirect.com about a one time fee lifetime listing with them.

Anybody know anything about them? Anybody interested, I'm sure they don't just want me, and will be happy to sign up 100 contractors if they wanted to.

The links that I found were redirects so no link value from their no page rank pages. With all of the free directories on-line(including Nathan's) I'm not sure why someone would pay $29.95 or even $1 unless the site had a ton of organic traffic.

I assumed that was their reasoning (whether realist or not) that someone would pay for it also. I don't think there is any value to a link for SEO reasons, only for generating leads directly. I know nothing about them, as far as I know they are another dime a dozen loser online lead service. But I figured if someone else found value in it or knew more about them than I did, it was worth posting it here.

Ed, a ten dollar bot program and a free Alexa toolbar can give anyone a good score (not that their site's score is really good). One of my sites has under 800,000 with only 3000-4000 visitors a month.

OK, there is a website called alexa, they rank websites by the amount of users or site visits. The lower the number the better, youtube.com has a very low number, boring contractor websites have a really high number. If you are selling on-line ads people will generally look at your Alexa score to determine how much traffic you get. Other than BS site traffic details Alexa is a waste of hosting space. As of last year people were selling bots (like spambots) that would keep visiting your site to increase your score. The only way they can track your score is if a user has a Alexa toolbar (the thing up top of your page, look up, see the area under contractortalk website). If you get a bunch of users that use their toolbar you get a good score. Once again the data is garbage.
