Internet lead generating company.
So far over the last couple of months everything that has been sent to us through this company has been crap. Maybe 9 leads out of pocket about 300 bucks. I am like a lot of people on here I dont like to quit until its put through the test. I started this in November. For you guys who buy leads through these companies, is enough of a test? Maybe its the seoson were in but I dont want them to start flinging crap everwhere when the seoson picks up on my dime.
We have another lead generator who we kicked ass on and we havent took the chance with SM yet Im waiting to here from Grumpy on the changes he mentioned.

Leads are funny, you can get streaks of hot and cold ones. Which company are you using?

I just ditched Reliable remodeler this week. They gave me one good lead in 5 month's time. All of the rest were either people fishing for the lowest bidder, or they all wanted to start tomorrow. I'm too small of an operation for that, I always have a backlog. I am also leary of customers that want you to "start right away" since they don't seem to have a firm understanding that remodeling properly takes time.

I am about to ditch renovation experts.
I am spending $300 a month and not seeing the quality of leads that I thought I would be.

I have been with them for I guess 3 months now.
I am just seeing people who are wanting me to do the work for basically free, or 2-3 months out.
IMHO it isnt worth it.
SM is working out better for me.

Cole I was refering to renovations experts but I take that back when I say kciking ass. We got lucky and got a couple of good leads and we landed them out of a hanful of crap. But you have to think the time of the year it is. Thats why I am thinking of giving contractors4u another chance. I want to try service magic but I will wait to see if my adwords kick in. Cole what kind of work do you do?

I use renovationexperts.com also for about 2 months and I agree with Cole that the most of the leads are junk so far but I am going to try two more months and will decide. I am getting about 20 leads a month so far and only 2 have either answered and/or returned my calls.

How long are you waiting before you call the leads? A correct response should be in seconds or a few minutes, anything longer brings poor results.

Another thing is if you don't get a "wow, I just signed up on-line a few minutes ago", ask them how long ago they signed up. This is how I found out that some of the companies were selling used/dead/old/crappy leads.
This one you can have fun with, ask the lead generation company to e-mail/fax you a copy of how they generate leads. If they advertise "real time on-line leads" they should not sell you "purchased leads". Most companies will not put in writing where they get their leads from

I agree that most just dont answer the phone. Come on guys if they all answered the phone thats all the advertising you would need. I mean 20 leads a month all ansering the phone for 300 a month that would be great but thats unrealistic expectations.

Doug, For our area, if we don't catch it within few minutes we don't even get chance to have a detail information because there are many guys competing for the leads.

junk leads
i have been using service majic, quality smith pro and reliable remodelers for a long time now. i've just decided to cancel the first two. reasons service majic sucks. and i've done the #s game with them but they suck big time. quality smith same thing a little better not quite as corporate as sm but still no real quality in their leads now reliable remods i will keep them on the books only because we have the ability to accept or turndown thier leads. this can make a good fill in when salespeople are slow. but still most leads are just tire kickers looking for the lowest bidders. or they are in need of a repair. so fellows i just gotta say in my own judgements if you are not over 1.5 million in sales and don't want to play the #s game than but your dollars into something more profitable than these leads.heck pay a canvasser $7.00 per hour to go out and canvass for you for the same $70 they can knock on about 1000 doors in a 10 hr time span and at the average of 2 lead for every 100 doors knocked on that comes out to 20 leads in the area that you pick to work instead of $70 for 1 junk lead you get 20 solid leads set 75% of them up for appt. or 15 in home presatations out of that you sell 30% thats 4.5 jobs in your area that you picked. your job signs all over the neighborhood and more people calling you from the doorhangers you put out.now you just paid $14.00 per lead (excuse me per job!) now that savvy! and consider this while your setting home wondering how to get leads generated if you were to go out and canvass yourself set yourself and close yourself that lead cast even less. hope this helps i just don't think lead services are making us money (only a few are lucky) yet we can get off are tushes and generate real results so just drive baby drive!

I agree, I was under the assumption that they were the best out there right now.
