How About Renovation Experts

Has any one worked leads from this company? If so how has it been?

They were once good, I dropped them and consider them to be in the same league as SM.

They will let you barter for the price of their leads.(they don't tell you that until you threaten to quit 'em though} My standard closing rate is about 70% with yellow page or newspaper lead, and about 8% when I do use RE. I don't use them much though. I think the last block of leads I got 40 for $400.00. They send about 10 leads per week or more for my area, and I get to pick the ones I want if any.

I'm under contract for another month with RE. I get my leads under a hotmail account. I haven't even looked at that email account for 2 months, that should tell you something about the quality of the leads.

Re: How About Renovation Experts

these guys are directly linked to service magic..as much time and money as my company pays for using these internet companies in regards to providing us leads, it's well worth the time to do a little research and make sure these companies aren't "double-dipping".

Re: How About Renovation Experts

I wonder why the home improvement sites and networks like This Old House don't have contractor directories and lead services? They'd have a lot more credibility and exposure than SM and this bunch.

Its a huge undertaking and advertising expense to run a lead company. Also they are extremely profit driven entities like most businesses. It might actually take away credablity from sites like this old house etc. If it flops or gets bad reviews from contractors

Re: How About Renovation Experts

You're right about it being a big commitment, but I see from another post that another big player has a new site so someone large is taking on SM and the rest. If they're providing a good service to contractors, it shouldn't hurt them - it should help them with both HOs and trades, shouldn't it? We need someone big - and credible - to come in.

Hello friend,
Thanks you have given good opportunity for contractors interaction..
Advertising expenses are really high for any company and it is not sure also that advertisement will improve company's sales or business.

Regards,
Nelson

Re: How About Renovation Experts

Renovation experts contract scam
Another builder in my area”He recently went of business” told me to call these guys for better leads instead of using SM
First let me say the salesman initials are BS, which is what I got for a sales pitch and contract
I’ll quote contract, someone tell me if I’m reading this wrong
Company reserves the right to change or modify any of the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement at any time and from time to time in its sole discretion, and to determine whether any such changes apply to both existing or future customers. Company may make changes or modifications to referenced policies or guidelines without notice to you. Your continued use of the Services following Company's posting of any changes or modifications will constitute your acceptance of such changes or modifications.
What’s stopping Renovation experts from robbing me blind???
Lead Returns. Lead returns are subject to Company's sole discretion and will be considered by Company under the following circumstances only:
(1) Lead is a duplicate of a Lead previously provided to Customer by Company; or
(2) Lead Information includes a disconnected or otherwise invalid telephone number
I asked BS if he could add “Customer must own home and be authorized for work to be completed”, He told me no!!!!!
All leads delivered to customer are deemed accepted unless, within forty eight (48) hours from the date that Company delivers Lead to the Customer, customer requests to return the lead for one of the reasons stated above
This is not what he’s selling me on the phone, he’s telling the exact opposite, I can choose or decline each lead, what BS
Bs reply:
David,

The first Circle - that IS the notification policy - if the company makes changes we notify you by e-mail, if 48 hours after opening the e-mail you continue using the service then we consider that you have accepted the changes.

We will give you replacement leads for any that turn out to not own their homes. The paragraph below that applies to customers who are being charged on a per send basis - they are charged by lead received. It would not apply to you.

The last circle is stating that we own the leads - that you cannot turn around and resell the leads to someone else. This prevents contractors from selling our leads to multiple people, that has happened before then they would be going to more than 4 contractors.

We cannot accept modified agreements, I can send this e-mail clarifying the terms however - hopefully this will allay your concerns.

Re: How About Renovation Experts

They were formally called "WCV Leads".

Always makes me concerned when a lead company starts out, and actually provides somewhat a decent service--then once the quality of the leads turn to shiat they change the name of their company.

Used car dealerships do it everyday, so why not these guys.

One positive thing with wcv/ renovations experts, however--they are actually the best of the bunch in regards to allocating actual credits/ credit card reimbursements for junk leads.

Re: How About Renovation Experts

Hi Men,
As we have all tried one lead company or another with mixed results, I personally struggle with paying for something I don't get and continue my search to find an alternative.
I did find a company fixxbook.com that charges no fees to the contractor, the fees are actually paid by the national retail and restaurant clients. I signed up and within a week I was contacted by a chain retail store to register as one of their contractors and then received a couple of small jobs.

Worth looking into as it seems to be legitimate.

I'm trying to get back to start working. Anybody know which lead company is serious? I'm thinking about RE instead of SM.
