Everycontractor.com New Deal!

I was contacted previously by Everycontractor com and was told leads were in my area and they had fallen behind on work and needed me now. They wanted $695 for leads today. I stopped answering their calls.

Today I get a call from them and they start out saying they have fallen behind again and are offering a special one time offer and Since it was their fault falling behind they were going to offer one year of service for only $95. Sounded good. Too good to be true! I told them I needed to look into the numbers and see if we needed to spend any more money on leads. I looked here and read nothing but bad posts. I have decided to not sign up and now the phone calls have started. 2 in the last 10min. First Chris told me "You telling me you can't spend $95. We are going to make you money!" first words out of his mouth after I said NO were confrontational.

I am glad I didn't sign up but I have spent alot more than $95 on stuff that never even came close to panning out. I will check my viocemail now and see what they said...

$95 bucks!?

I don't know sounds pretty good knocking $600 off the annual price! I've never used them so I don't know what I'm talking about .... am I missing something though? I mean I spend $95 bucks on a tank of gas.... isn't this worth it?

Sounds too good to be true, then it is!

If it sounds to good to be true, then it is. These online lead generating companies make claims that don't make any sense.

First, if I could guarantee you that I could bring you leads, I would do two things. First, I would charge you thousands of dollars for it.
Secondly, I would start my own contracting company and keep all the leads myself. That's just smart business! (I know some people don't want the headaches, then partner with a contractor and reap half the profits)

Look, the point is this, as contractors our main goal with advertising and marketing is to prove to customers that we're the best. That's what people are looking for. They're looking for the best contractor (sure price is a major factor). But homeowners don't say to themselves, I want to find a "D" rated contractor. They want to prove to themselves that a particular contractor is a good contractor.

As contractors we need to concentrate on proving and showing customers why they should spend their money with us. The internet is just another vehicle that can help you get that point across.

lol

you'd probably attract more customers by getting $95.00 in one dollar bills and lighting them off in your parking lot.

This is the problem I was dealing with in my head. I had problems with one of the other lead service sites (Calfinder) that advertised here and they sucked so I am skeptical to begin with. I just think that lead service sites are crap, their whole system is flawed. I think the only way to get good leads is word of mouth, which is also the least active in my opinion. The website is ok if you can ever get it to show up on google.

I do alot of commercial work and word of mouth never really gets around. One of the problems I have had is a GC I did alot of work with screwed over some people and they are useless as a reference. It is hard times right now and I think we can all work through it but I think lead services are the wrong direction.

i got a call a few hours ago... first time ever. she asked me a bit about me and my buisness and said she has a job down the road. for $699 i could have this and a years worth of leads if i was willing to stay current with them and get back to the customers within 24 hours blah blah blah....
i turned her down even though the hook of a kitchen reno sounds nice, and after reading this i feel 100% confident i did the right thing.

they sent me two woodsiding jobs. And I'm a mason contractor, I hope
I get my money back when my contract expires. They talked a good game when they called.

Send a message via ICQ to A W Smith
They all stopped calling me. Perhaps they saw my posts here bashing them.
