I recently got a phone call from this lead service.

They gave me a rundown of how wonderful they are and told me they had a lead in my area and wanted me to sign up.

I put them through the wringer and told them I might be interested but would have to do some research.

I looked them up on this forum and noted all the negative posts. When they called me back I told them I would not be trying them out because of their negative press on CT.

The proceeded to offer me a free membership for a year, which I accepted.

Over the last 6 weeks I have recieved 1 lead for a bathroom remodel that didn't return any of my phone calls or emails, and 1 lead for a bathroom remodel that I didn't call yet but considering the average home value in their neighborhood is well under 100k I'm not going to bother.

The only thing I can't figure out is why they bothered giving me the free membership.

I'll keep everyone posted.

It hasn't cost them a dime and looky here ~> some non-negative press about them!

Sure you got no work from them...but for not having spent a dime, you really can't complain, can you?

So now, a zillion asshats will be like "Wow ...I'll sign up with them...this Orson guy couldn't sell fire to an eskimo".
..and they start riding the money train again.

Those people are bad news, and free stuff usually has some cost. I hope you get lucky and score a good job from this, I'd be happy for you if that happened.

Stay away from these morons... I would not even accept the free stuff they offered. They expect you to follow all their rules and they dont even follow their own procedures.

That hardly sounds like good press to me. My point is that if they can't generate a real lead in 6 weeks they are obviously worthless and are NOT going to get any good press out of it, so why bother.

They called me today and asked me if I wanted to do a kitchen job. I asked who it was and then the guy said Eric from EC.com. Told me he had a kitchen and bath and needed a contractor to do them. I told him I was overbooked and couldn't take on more work. So he went away. What a bunch of liars.

They called me 2 weeks ago and stated they had 6 kitchen and bathroom remodels within 50 miles of me and no contractors that would take the jobs. Said if I paid the $999.00 for a guaranteed 12 confirmed leads per year they could actually hook me up with "hundreds" since they have no contractors in my area.

I told them," My budget is gone for the year but if I could sell a job soon I would sign with them anyway." They gave me 1 lead which i called on, got an answer, set an appointment, and as of today still have not signed on due to the HO waiting for money to replace his water damaged kitchen floor.

They called me 1 day later and reduced their price to $499.00 a year for 12 guaranteed confirmed leads. I said, "I still haven't sold a job so I still can't sign up with you." They said," O.K. we'll lat you have 3 leads right now at no cost if you agree to sign on Tuesday for $299.00" I said,"Deal!"

Called all 3 leads, 1 no answer with 5 calls between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.
#2 Answered, set up an appointment, went and saw what she needed and came back to office and wrote prop with C.A.D. drawings and emailed them to her the same day. No response for 10 days now.
#3 lead was disconnected number and no email. (confirmed how?)

Anyway, Due to the 2 actual leads that i was able to bid on, I signed up with them. Nothing for over a week now. What happened to to the hundreds of leads they supposedly had in my area?

Now they call me today at 5:30 p.m. telling me they had a lead in a town close to me. They were trying to sign me up again. They didn't know I was already a member! When they found out I was already signed up they told me I had to call customer service.

I called customer service, they tell me, "We have no such lead." Very good lead service.
