There were only 3 sizes of the 6" planks , 42" 16" & 20" . There were no matches , but 2 were close to 5" apart . I made sure the spacing was no less than 6" ( the width of the widest plank). I had to check my spacing at the start of each row . I measured and bid the job , but didn't know the HO was buying multi-width planks until 2 days prior to installation.

I do not place a firm bid on any project, until I see the project and the materials that are going to be used.
Some have a haste, to give a "one price fits all" price on projects, and it bites them. That's how I learned, every project is different, so every project has its own price.

I have a price for strip flooring.
I have a price for plank flooring up to 6", which is generally less cost than installing a strip floor.
A multi-width floor would surely have a different price than either plank or strip, as there is more time in the planning.
