Re: Work In Your Area

Out in Edmonton Albeta, good installers are still in short supply and charge good rates, ave rates starting at hardwood $3.25 cad sqft LVT $1.50 sq ft cad

most people do not seem to be able to get enough good reliable installers

I know it is hard for some of you down south, so this may not be good news to hear, sorry

Re: Work In Your Area

Things are looking pretty good in my area so far this year. I had a bit of down time in Jan./Feb. but steady since and looking very promising for the next couple of quarters.

Granted, I'm just a small biz and mostly work alone, but if any more of my quotes currently out there get accepted, I may have to hire some help.

Re: Work In Your Area

Hi jungle joe, work up here has cooled down from stupid hot to steady,

a few months ago that anybody who thought they could fit flooring was stacked out with work, customers where paying over the odds and waiting up 3-4 months just to get a installer, good installers are still booked up in advance,
poor installers are still getting work but they have to advertise now rather than just wait for it to come to them, however i know other areas of canada have slowed more

we have firms up here with between 20 - 40 two man teams still keeping busy

Re: Work In Your Area

I have rarely had to look for work in the Settle area since 92 but can barely get a return phone call for the last 6 week. but it looks to be picking up.
We do only commercial work but i have had to resort to a few resi. as side work to stay alive.

Hey Jungle Joe, what part of Florida are you in. Things are really ridiculously slow in Sarasota Fl.

Almost all the construction work fell off to nothing.

Things are up and down here in Houston but we keep putting out flyers, talking to people and working our existing customers and something will break.
