Wide Plank Subfloor Question...again

Okay,

so a potential client has wide plank subfloor. He wants to lay parallel with it so I told him he needed to install some plywood first.

He wants to maintain a flush transition with his tile which means I could only install 1/4" plywood. I've usually not gone thinner then 1/2" on the plywood. Is 1/4" plywood okay?

I'm thinking Halex. I think they are 1/4" but not as flexible as plywood.

Any suggestions?

Re: Wide Plank Subfloor Question...again

I have a lot of thoughts here. Is the subfloor something like 2x6 t&g? Or is it 1x5 planking???

Either or, both need to be renailed. 1/2" ply is the best if you want to have a nice flat laying surface. With the 2x6 I have layed both ways and as I look back laying perp to them is the best thing for a flat floor. If she wants to go the other direction then 1/2" is best for the flat surface.
