Transition From 1/2" Wood To 3/4" Tile
Asking for suggestions for transitioning between 1/2" engineered wood to existing 3/4" thick tile?
Install 1/4" plywood?, or is there another clean way to make the transition? thanks for your help! |

Re: Transition From 1/2" Wood To 3/4" Tile
Do you mean you plan on installing both and want them to be even with each other?
I've never had to bring up the wood to match tile, always the other way around, but I don't see anything wrong with putting down 1/4" ply. If it's a lot of extra cost doing it that way, can't you get transitions to match the wood flooring?

If you are installing both, and the customer has to have the two surfaces flush, then the only option is to bring one up to meet the other
Is this a nail down, glue down, or floating wood install?
