Swirl Marks Left Behind By Rotary Buffer Seen In Stain

I am thinking of investing in a machine to avoid these nasty swirls. Anyone have any comments on any of these or other tried and true methods they use to avoid them?

Clark 3DS Orbital Sander (oscillates and vibrates to prevent swirls)

Lagler Trio (oscillates and vibrates to prevent swirls)

Super Bee

Clark OBS 18 Orbital Sander (square buffer)

I'm leaning towards the Trio as the most versatile machine but pretty pricey.

Thanks for the advice

what is your sanding process when your prepping for stain ? maybe some adjustments to this and you can avoid the swirls and buying one of those machines! by the way the square buff will leave little pig tail shaped swirls-lots of them. justin

It all boils down to grits and techniques.

What are you sanding? Furniture, floors, what? What kind of finish are you looking for?
