Stapler For 5/8 Solid Wood?

I'd like to install 5/8" solid wood with a malletless pneumatic flooring stapler. Most staplers I've seen support up to 1/2" material. Anyone had any luck with a particular tool brand (or tool modification) for stapling up to 5/8" material? Because of arm problems, I'm trying to avoid the repetitive mallet strikes.

Why would you want to staple wood that thick? Can't you just use a pneumatic finish nailer?

Bostich makes a "Floor Runner" stapler. I have a Senco brand stapler designed for thin tongue and groove flooring. It works pretty good and is oil-less.

I have a Bostich stapler with a 1/2 inch crown that will take a 1 inch staple.....maybe longer.....not sure.....I'd think it would do the trick.

I'd glue as well.
