Some Labor Prices

Hi everybody,
I have done these jobs in the past when working for some one, but I have since been on my own for the last six months. The newest project is a tiled foyer. I have to tear up the old tile on plywood, put down hardibacker and install tile. I would like to know a ballpark figure for each of the three tasks. A price per sq ft is what I am looking for. I know laying the tile has variables, so any info would be helpful. I would like to compare those prices to what my hourly would be. Thanks.

I'm not quite sure what your doing "laying" tiles. Normally one sets tile and lays women.

I lay the tile and set the women straight. Just kidding ladies, I am really a nice guy. Thom you right, I should have said "set". I must have had women on my mind.

Foyers aren't that many sq ft so you better figure on how long hours wise each part of the job will be then divide that by the sq ft to get to a per ft price. But why bother if it takes two days to remove and replace your charging two days worth of labor + profit might as well charge by the sq inch or meter or hectare.

How big is the foyer? If its something small then you have to charge by how long it will take you like zero said. Something like that is no more than a day and a half at the most.

Re: Some Labor Prices

yeah I kind of figured it would be so, but I wanted to see how the price between the per item price would compare to my estimating price for time only. Thanks for looking out.

Re: Some Labor Prices

I forgot in my previous post, its only 50-60 sq ft. I could use speed set and have it done in a day but i don't know if I want to go that route.
