Silestone

First time installing Silestone tiles. We installed new 3/4" subflooring with 1/2" Durock glued down on top. Will this be sufficient support for the tile? Its 1/2" thick.

Silestone tiles? Didn't even know they existed. They would seem to be a very slick surface.

stuff is so thick, it is probably it's own subfloor AND underlay.

Joists 36 inches on center? NO PROB!

You should first find out how big your floor joists are, what type, 16" o.c., and the span of the room. I would put another layer of ply ontop first, followed by the durock, thinsetted down, and nailed or screwed.

Thanks.
Its a prewar co-op with 18" of "backfill" (if thats the right word). On top of the "backfill" are 4x4's widthwise (24" on center), then 2x4's flat (16" on center) on top of that. Then is the new 3/4"CDX.
How does that sound?
