Sanding And Finishing Engineered Hardwood

Most people think that it is dangerous to re-sand or re-finish an Engineered Hardwood Floor, since only the top layer of Engineered Hardwood is actually real wood. The other layers are made of various synthetic fibers and materials. Therefore, sanding too deep within the Engineered floor can result in erasing all of the actual wood ! Why don't we just do the math. The top layer is 1/16'' of actual solid hardwood, and sanding should not remove more than 1/32''. Therefore you can sand down your engineered hardwood adleast two more times without removing all of the actual wood. Once again another benefit found within the new technology of Engineered Hardwood.

First off.....who knows how many sandings on an engineered wood you can get....
there are different thicknesses on engineered wood, some can only take 1 sanding.....
so try not to paint with such a wide brush....
